Laura and Andy got married at Achnagairn Estate surrounded but jars filled with colourful springtime flowers.
They were such a nice relaxed couple and although Laura had a clear idea of the look she wanted to achieve with her flowers she pretty much left it up to me as long as thistles were definitely included.
Laura wanted a really relaxed free form hand tied bouquet so we used lots of foliage, thistles and then a mixture of spring flowers to achieve the natural look she had in mind. Her bridesmaids were in navy so to compliment their dresses and the thistles that Laura wanted included in the bridal flowers we went for a bright pink rose to add some contrast and really make the flowers pop against the deep navy dresses. The little flower girls had simple headbands of foliage and tiny pink flowers.
For the venue flowers Laura provided decorated jars that we filled with the same flowers used in the bridal bouquets. These were used to line the aisle before they were then moved to the tables for the reception. The gorgeous fireplace we kept simple covering it in trailing ivy. The cake, wow! Laura and Andy had a stunning 4 tiered cake covered in royal icing with lace and hessian decoration from local bakery Harry Gow. We filled the space between the bottom two tiers with the same flowers used in in the bridal bouquets and I have to say the affect was simply beautiful, a real show stopper!
